The Simpsons have been around forever. Duff Beer, the fictious beer adored by Homer J. Simpson is now becoming a reality againテつ thanks to Rodrigo Contreas Diaz. Produced in Jalisco and distributed online only, this limited edition lager beer is becoming a huge success. Having sold over 200 boxes (12 bottles) in only 2 weeks at $20 bucks a pop there seems to be no stopping Mr. Diaz. There’s no telling when this company will get sued though.テつ
Back in the 1990s an Australian Brewery attempted to mass produced Duff Beer until they were suedテつ by The Simpson’s creators. I’ll have to add Duff Beer to my list of fictious beers that became real. I’ll add this frosty brew to my list of fictious beers which include Olde Frothingslosh Pale Stale Ale and Duff Beer.テつ |
I hope this will help you through your weekend everyone. I know this is a little ad but it makes me feel “A little warm and fuzzy inside.” Hopefully it won’t “Scare the f*ck out of you!”
The commercial is for the Dodge Calibre which works to change the perception that small cars are ‘cute’. A bunch of fairytale critters are placed in a focus group sitting in front of their vehicle. All of the critters agree that they don’t like the car saying things like “I find it dark and distubring” or “it is neither fuzzy nor wuddly.” At the end of the television commercial, the people sitting behind the one way glass comment “Perfect, that’s just the reaction we were looking for.”
Self explanatory. An internationalテつ drunk driving advertisement that really caught my eye.
British comic Sacha Baron Cohen, a widely known comic that portrays an anti-semitic Kazakh reporter, is about to release his new movie “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” exclusively on MySpace! The movie is the first of MySpace’s new ‘Black Carpet‘ screening series which debuted in U.S. this Wednesday. The Borat movie will be launched on November 3rd thanks to the 20th Century FOX and News Corp. take over of MySpace. Borat’s MySpace page will show you a little more about the movie and comic. Trust me, if you like somewhat offensive and political humor then this guy is for you.テつ I’m also excited to see what News Corp.’s plans are for the future of the MySpace ‘Black Carpet’ and how advertising will swarm to this.
These innovative egg murder mystery and egg humor commercials belowテつ are so British. Lion Quality Eggs makes you more aware of that with this new commercial. The company claims to provide the safest germ free eggs in the world. I love the interesting performances of the eggs acting like humans. The commercial was developed by SF.
Naked Juice Co. kicked off its advertising campaign today by staging a protest in front of the Tribune Building. The ‘Naked’ employees were accompanied by giant fruit people with picket signs, free drink offers, chapstick and stickers to rally the troops against evil preservatives, added sugar, and low quality juices. Some of their signs said “Say no to added sugar” and “Down with free radicals!”テつ Holyテつ Bananas!テつ There was even a banana who decided to start breakdancing. Breakdancing bananas are always a sure-fire way to attract attention at a big eventテつ you marketers lovers out there! The company’s first outdoor media campaign will feature billboards, subway entrance signs, and guerilla marketing on city cabs. Naked Juice is the very definition of true grassroots effort. Pepsi’s latest print advertising campaign to ‘please recycle’ actually makes me laugh. The best way to get someone to recycle is to get their attention and make them laugh! Innovation, creativity, and humor are all evident in these ads. Sure, you do not have to think much when looking at the ads. But come on, who takes more than 1-3 seconds to look at a magazine or billboard ad.

Talk about escalator advertisements! This is a terrific advertisement from Hopi Hari created by QG Propaganda, Sau Paulo, Brazil. Destined to draw attention from around the world these escalator advertisements are just the next stepping stones to what could be coming. I rememeber when I posted about a company promoting conveyor belt advertising. This one just really caught my eye and I hope it did yours too. Via Ads of The World.

Marginalized posted this very interesting look at The Digg Effect. Check out the short exerpt below and click continue reading to see the whole thing.
I recently had a blog entry hit the front page on Digg. “But, how can all that traffic hurt,” you ask? Simple. Because Diggers do not click on advertising you will find your “click-through” ratio (or CTR) drops into the decimal range. The CTR is a prime factor in getting paid by the company who puts advertising on your blog. If you have a high CTR you get more money and better ads showing up on your site. If your CTR drops very low you will find the money drops with it…continue reading
