Endorsed by Pink “the musician” here is the new Playstation PSP pink box. October is over but here rolls out more breast cancer awareness marketing from Sony. The P!nk PSP, as the new model is officially known, will come with white headphones, a white pouch and wrist strap, and a 32MB MemoryStick Duo. The pack will also include an ‘exclusive’ UMD of content from the pop star Pink, including music videos, footage of an ‘intimate UK showcase’, an interview with the artist and the track ‘Crash and Burn’, which Sony claims is not available on any Pink album in Europe. There will also be more available to download, exclusively to Pink PSP owners upon registering their new handheld.

Apple revealed an 8GB model of its special edition iPod Nano, the new model holds up to 2,000 songs, and joins Apple’s 4GB model. Both devices come in red aluminum cases and a claimed 24 hours of battery life. The red nanos were designed by U2 lead singer Bono and Bobby Shriver. The new 8GB model will sell for $249, while 4GB model will remain $199.

Apple will donate $10 from each sale to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa. Bono and Oprah Winfrey go the streets of Chicago in a high profile “paint the town red” shopping spree to promote the campaign.

“Customer response to the iPod nano (PRODUCT) RED Special Edition has been off the charts,” said Greg Joswiak, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide iPod Product Marketing in a statement. “We’re thrilled to add a second model with 8GB of capacity, enough for 2,000 songs, so customers have yet another choice in supporting this important cause.”

eMiles is a new service that will start January, 2007 in which you will be paid frequent flier miles to sit and watch advertisements. Looks like everyone’s willing to give you something for watching ads or writing blog posts these days!

With the service, people would complete an online profile of themselves and indicate which kinds of ads they’re most interested in. When the ads are delivered, the person watches them and then is given the miles on the carrier of their choice.

I think this is rather silly. I like to spend my time on the airplane in peace and quiet. Are we really that desperate for a few extra miles anyways?

ClickRiver is the new Amazon.com pay per click advertising network. All the ads will be housed within the Amazon website. It’s a pretty big move as TechCrunch points out. The recommended links are big business for Amazon and they will be able to profit directly from them. The interesting thing to note about ClickRiver is that the text advertisements under recommended links go to third party websites.

Phillips Electronics will be sponsoring an entire college football game to air on TBS to shorten commercial breaks and in an act of appreciation for the game (yeah right). Phillips has done this before when they bought all the time during a 60 Minutes airing on CBS back in Oct. 2005. No word whether or not buying out all the commercial time for a show or football game is a good or bad thing. (via)

The European Health Ministers have recently met to commission the abolishment of all obesity driven fast food establishments. The “anti-obesity charter” stands firmly on the idea that children are being exploited by fast food companies much like cigarette companies once did. The World Health Organization will be holding a conference in Turkey at the end of November to discuss the problem further. The first step, of course, is to attempt to reduce rather than abolish fast food advertising across the board. (via)

This is a truely shocking billboard collection of the Czech animal rights organization Svodoba Zvirat which works to show that cosmetics and animal testing just don’t mix. It’s a great way to explain the things the animals go through when testing with mascaeras and other girly things I know nothing of. The ads represent the distortion of a beautiful woman’s face in order to make the woman appear disguting. The line of the advertisement reads; “This is how 300,000 lab animals suffer each year. This television commercial from Connex was banned in Australia because it was too terrifying for children to watch. The commercial was titled “Don’t hold others back” which was made to show how trains are constantly delayed due to commuters taking their “sweet ass time” and holding the rest of us back. The people dragging on the ground remind me more of zombies than lazy bumbs but nontheless a great depiction of a thought all those commuters have. Rejected Ads

In this in your face commercial for the Canadian Foundation For Aids Research, a young women is bent over a bathroom toilet vomiting. The screen reads “pregnant?” Nope, HIV positive. The message behind the ad is that all other health issues are miniscule compared the worldwide epidemic of AIDS. And yes, after decades there is still no cure so wrap it up fellas. Hot Loust

An interesting movie poster I must say. A unique blend of the idea of running with scissors by depicting a hand with legs holding a pair of scissors. I can only imagine it represents both creativity and the human imagination which are to be depicted in the film. The movie was written by Augusten Burroughs. Ad Punch
