The Car Blogger reports that when he recently sat down to read the James Patterson book, “Cross” featuring the hero Alex Cross that there was a long detailed description of a Mercedes Benz dealership. It would suprise him as well as I if Mr. Patterson was receiving some money from the book placements.

According to Ad Age, “the bridge district has buses, ferries and a gift shop that could accommodate sponsorships.”

With over 1,200 suicides from the Golden Gate bridge, they might look into hiring 1-800 Suicide for a sponsorship deal. I don’t know how they do it with that suicide prevention gate.

In the video game Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories the point of the game is to kill cops, get the girl, and get the money. You have sex with prostitutes and then kill them when you’re done. Sounds lovely doesn’t it?

Well the Boston Herald doesn’t think so and believes the ads for the Rock Star video game on MBTA trains should be taken down. Of course everyone is pissing and whining about first amendment rights and youth violence. City Councilor Mike ross and a ton of other people have set up a petition for the greedy and ad hungry MBTA Train General Manager Dan Grabauskas to take down the ads.

My opinion? Well, these games are good to get your real aggression out instead of doing it in the real world. When the nightly news tells me how the prison populations keep growing I laugh and think “well, if 1,000 prisoners are locked in for 10 years and people get locked up every year without those 1,000 being released…..” of course it is going to grow as our population grows and sentences increase in length. So recently Colonel Sanders appeared visible from Space but what’s the point of advertising to the space station and aliens? I don’t think they’ll come here for the Colonels Friend Chicken. Instead, it looks like KFC might be thinking about putting the colonel on the moon.

The friendly old man’s face would be visible to six billion hungry beings (and some canibals). The satirical press release announcing the advertisement in space says ““KFC creates first advertisement in space; beams 60 million sq. foot contemporized Colonel Sanders logo onto moon’s Copernicus crater.”

AdFreak had an interesting look at the UCLA Taser incident in which a middle eastern student got zapped time and time again by campus cops for not having his ID to get into some place. The video from AdFreak depicts Taser International Executives taking some pretty harmful� (but non lethal) shocks. The screams freak the hell out of me!
