This commercial for the new Apple iPod Shuffle features a pretty interesting look at the variety of ways you can wear the iPod Shuffle and wear you can clip it to your shirt, pants, scarf, or jacket. So “Put Some Music On” with the new iPod Shuffle.

This girl is ready for a night on the town after using the Lux soap. Watch the little roaming gnome closely. The new Lexus vehicles will come badged with a giant “F” emblem which apparently stands for fast on the trunk. The “F” represents the company’s new found dedication to performance enhancement that will compete directly with rival AMG and M around the world. The first car from the “F” line is the 5 liter V8 engine producing over 420 horsepower at the wheels. It is going to compete head on with the BMW M3 which launches in 2007. The Lexus GS and IS coupe are expected to get “F’d” also.
This new video from Greenpeace Canada spoofs for an ad that informs people about the thawing oceans. I like the idea of using South Park characters and the flash animation is very smooth and colorful. The only downside is the voices are just terrible and the conversations are rather weak. It’s funny how Cartman Crab says ‘ass’ but at the end of the video they censor the word. Apparently Canadians are allowed to swear as long as it verbally.
Christmas is coming and that can mean only one thing…. more commercials we hate. To put this into perspective and to scapegoat one business in particular, I am choosing the Lexus December to Remember campaign. Could there be anything more pretentious than these series of commercials where a husband suprises his wife with a car wrapped in an oversized red bow? Wow, that was sure original this year.
P.S. Big red bows scream steal me from your street.
I’ve been watching television like crazy over the weekend and noticed Best Buy’s new series of Christmas commercials where a parent gives their kid a gift wrapped in Best Buy gift wrapping paper. The wrapper paper has the Best Buy colors and a giant “Best Buy” logo on the paper.
It’s a spoiler for people to know where their gift was bought and it’s pretty easy to guess that if it says “Best Buy” it is probably some sort of electronic. What’s the suprise in that for your kids or loved ones? “Look honey, instead of buying you that diamond ring you wanted, I got you something in a giant blue and yellow box marked Best Buy. Can you guess what is it?”
There’s even a commercial where a kid wakes up christmas morning only to dive into a box of Best Buy christmas boxes under the tree and ignore the cute puppy his parents bought him. Only Best Buy could be so clever.
It might be old news to some, but it is widely believed that young adults make up the bulk of the MySpace, Facebook, and consumer generated content market. According to a recent study conducted by the American Marketing Association, the majority of adults love the chance to develop consumer generated ads and content for big business while the younger adults really do not care.
“AMA’s survey revealed that compared to a company that uses only professional advertising, most adults feel that a company that uses customer-created advertising is more customer-friendly (68%), creative (56%), and innovative (55%).
Survey respondants between the ages of 18 and 24 are more likely than those between the ages of 25 and 64 to say a company that uses customer-created advertising is less trustworthy (21% versus 10%, respectively), less socially-responsible (20% versus 10%, respectively) and less customer-friendly (13% versus 5%, respectively).” Read The Full Report

Netflix Commercial - Headless Horseman & Monsters
Television Ads December 4th, 2006The new Netflix commercial has been uploaded onto YouTube. This interesting advert points of the DVD rental company’s ability to offer a wide variety of genres for video renters with the tag line “nearly one billion movies delivered so far.” I love the variety of headless horsemen, Victorian women, geishas, and invisible creatures and how the camera fades out at the end.
