Some Christians believe downloading music illegally is alright as long as it helps spread the word of God. More traditional thinkers still believe the almighty commandment “Thou Shalt Not Steal.” So what’s the real answer?

A woman named Regina Kennedy is proud to be a christian. When her pastor recently told her that it was a sin to illegally download gospel songs without paying for them she freaked out. The 43 year old ran home and deleted all the songs on her computer. Kennedy’s actions were unique as most teens that become born again Christians still think that illegal music downloading is alright as long as it helps spread the word of God. It’s amazing what our youth today feels about the marketing and legal efforts of musical artists to protect their music. A 16-year old student named Mike thought that “they should give it away cause it’s art anyways.” Alright Michael, I’ll believe that when they start handing out Picasso’s paintings left and right.
