AdRants points out that at a conference held on Tuesday at the Vitory Lane in Arizona with GoDaddy CEO and founder Bob Parsons and Danica Patrick (The GoDaddy Girl) that Patrick is not guaranteed to appear in either of the two Super Bowl ‘07 commercials set to air in January. It is quite possible that the spots might feature GoDaddy Girl Candice Michelle or Parson’s himself. Then again, at Caffeine Marketing we tend to think of conferences and ‘not-sure’ speeches as just a ringer technique for you to watch the ads and find out for yourself.

Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative

Today, the Council of Better Business Bureaus and the National Advertising Review Council announced the establishment of the Children’s Food and Beverage Advertising Initiative. The volunteer based program is comprised of 10 major companies and will work to shift away advertising messages of fatty foods from children. Particpating companies include; Cadbury Schweppes, Coca-Cola, General Mills, Pepsi, McDonalds, Kellogg, Kraft, Unilever, General Mills, and Campbell Soup.

Will marketers stop marketing fast foods and soft drinks to children under 12? I highly doubt it and self-regulation like this will never work. Read

Adidas Mi Innovation Center - Changing How We Shop

Sportswear brand Adidas is hoping to tap consumer demand for customized clothing with the grand opening of its’ 1,750 square meter store this year. The new store is a marketing and technological marvel. The focal point of the new center is a large black cube. Customers can point at the images on the cube and infared/laser sensors interpert their hand movements and convert them into command responses. This allows customers to pick, choose, and customize the exact shoe they want.

The new sportwear store is truly changing the future of shopping and showcasing the latest technology. It’s also a great way to regenerate the strength behind the Adidas brand. I think Adidas is doing the right thing by targeting younger consumers who’ve grown up with video games and computers and will feel very comfortable and at ease with the technologically advance interface of the store. JibJab Teams Up With Verizon Wireless

JibJab has teamed up with Verison Wireless to collaborate on a short film contest in which wanna-be comedians will be pitted against each other in a bid for a shot at $10,000 ‘cash-money’ (Wilmer Valderama joke). The winner of the short film contest will also win the opportunity to work with acclaimed comedic director John Landis of ‘Blues Brothers’ and ‘American Werewolf in London’ fame. The buck doesn’t stop there. The winner will also be featured on Verizon VCAST Service!

Well Kodak and BabyGap have teamed up to hold a contest for the cutest baby and toddler ages four and under for an upcoming advertisement. All you have to do is visit the BabyGap website and upload your baby photos via the Kodak Easy Share function. On November 4th, a panel of judges will narrow the field down to 20 kids. Kind of reminds me of American Idol for cute babies. All entrants will receive three personalized ‘holiday’ cards from Kodak and a coupon for the BabyGap.

The deadline is set for October 13th and is approaching sooner than you might think. The deadline has already been extended so I doubt they’ll do it again.
