Casino Royale Most Expensive Commercial

Videos, New Products November 1st, 2006

The upcoming James Bond movie flick, Casino Royale, will feature more than its’ share of Sony Products including the Vario, Cyber Shot mobile cell phones, the M600i smart phone, and god knows what other hidden gems. The movie is scheduled to be released November 17th. Sony will be spending the most for product placement / commercials in a movie. James Bond will be using a variety of Sony Products throughout the film but hopefully we won’t be too overcooked with the product placements.

One of the worst product placements I can remember is in the movie “Click” with Adam Sandler in which the whole movie is based around a remote controller and Bed, Bath, and Beyond.

That was the question of this practical jokster video featuring beauties thinking they’re going to kiss a Rico Suave looking fella but are instead tricked into kissing a monkey. What people will do for advertising stardom I will never know.

Saw 3 The Next Victim III

Television Ads, Bizarre Marketing, Videos October 24th, 2006

WARNING: This commercial preview for Saw is a spoiler and very disturbing so be careful where and around who you are watching it. I had to post this commercial for Saw III (3) after I discovered I can buy tickets to the flick on campus for a measily $3 on Halloween night. I loved the first one, the second one came me a case of amnesia, and I hope the third will justify the ends.

Dove Real Beauty Evolution

Videos October 15th, 2006

The new Dove Campaign for Real Beauty features a new video in which a woman is transformed into a beauty. The average-looking woman is turned into gorgeous model through makeup and photoshop editing to get prepped for a billboard. A pretty dumb way of promoting advocacy for beauty though.

What do you think? We always hear how difficult young girls lives are because they try to reach the beauty of models on billboards and in magazines. If we taught younger girls the photoshop techniques shown in this video maybe they would understand. Read the rest of this entry »

Most Popular Viral Videos

Videos October 13th, 2006

ulmoI’m the type of person who likes to keep up on the most popular viral video around the web. If you’re like me, then you’ll enjoy this new website developed by Asabailey titled “UMLO.” Apparently, the hot thing in the online world is to get domain names that are gibberish (just kidding, I like the name). The site crawls the web and tracks linking behaviors to various video sites and produces a list of what’s hot on the web right now. The top video right now is of Chad and Steve, the former YouTube owners who’ve become filthy rich over the sale of YouTube.

Dancing Indian Kid Is Fake

Videos October 12th, 2006

Swivel Media and TiVo are Behind Indian Dance Kid. We knew it all along. The dancing indian kid (or should we dare say ‘little person’) with the freakish grin, oversized head, and incredible dance is a complete fake. The weird video is actually a promotion for TiVo. Swivel took the video from a B-Hollywood clip and branded it with TiVo.

Angry Grocery Store Employee Vents

Videos October 7th, 2006

Mahmood acts out what it’s like being a Vons Supermarket Cashier. The guy is freakishly insane or just really pissed off with his job.

I wonder how many times he’ll say “oh you fucked up?” Mahmood displays a great insight to the employees heads in America’s stores. We might use his ‘knowledge’ to our advantage day with customer service satisfaction and product placement but until then just watch the video and have yourself a laugh riot.

Red Bull Base Jumper Cedric Dumont

Videos October 5th, 2006

To promote the Red Bull energy drink, in Ireland a man named Cedric Dumont has completed three out of four planned parachute base jumps and posted his videos online. The videos are being thrown about YouTube as Dumont has jumped off toll bridges to building tops. His third jumped which lasted only one second was the lowest base jump in Europe’s history and only 38 meters from the ground. Dumonts fourth and final jump will come Monday when he jumps from a cliff in the Aran Islands. The media and law have become disgusted with Dumont and have worked tediously to take legal action against the free faller.

Above you’ll see jump #3 (the most controversial at only 1 second before parachute deployment) from YouTube. Running time is a little over 2 minutes. Read
