In a bid to move away from outsourcing contextual based advertising, Fox Interactive Media, Tribune, and LookSmart are amongst the major media owners who will start auctioning non premium advertising space from their web sites. The publishers will use Publisher Media Exchange from Right Media. ÂÂ
The idea behind the move is to help publishers group their ads together (especially on archives) and enabled increased competition amongst online ad networks. Fox Interactive Media, which owns MySpace and Tribune and several other news sites are going to be integrating the PMX system very soon. The advertising system will act like an auction space for advertisers available in real time format. |
