Facebook Debuts Sponsored Story Ad Unit

After unveiling the controversial News Feed feature which allows users to keep track of their friends activity, Facebook will unveil a new ad unit which will stream within these feeds.
The new ad unit is called Sponsored Stories and will be placed in the third position within a user’s News Feed. The Sponsored Story will be anything from a small banner ad or a video clip. When a Facebook user clicks on a Sponsored Story their entire network of friends will be alerted to their action of clicking on the ad so they too can interact with the ad. Advertisers hope to draw in revenue off this social networking capability.
Launched September 26th, Facebook opened its’ doors to any and all internet users. In the past, Facebook users could only be High School or College Students.
