Advertisements of the 1940’s - 1960’s did something that is becoming less common in today’s world. The ads of this era were amazing pieces of artwork and style while proving themselves as effective in promoting products and services. Plan59 has developed an enormous collection of these ‘gallery ads’ from the era. These days, advertisements tend to focus on futuristic and aesthetic. Some of the vintage ads are a little confusing at times. I cannot tell if this kid wants a chicken pot pie or to eat the man’s hand.
