Quaker Oat VS Burger King Guy
Print Advertising September 29th, 2006
This is a new print advertisement for the Quaker Oats campaign which truely creeps me out. In addition, Quaker is clearly stealing the idea of a hard-plastic looking mascot to promote their goods to consumers. The thing is, I don’t think this is working for Quaker. Given that Burger King’s target audience can be teenagers and the middle class, a bit of humor can go along way. The majority of people eating Quaker Oats are in the age range of 60 - Deceased.
Sure, with the kids in the ad sitting next to an ‘erect’ Quaker Oat guy they might want to appeal to children. Quaker should’ve at least removed the circular stand from the Quaker guy’s feet to make him a little more realistic though.
