RipeTV For Ads and Boobs
Television October 11th, 2006
The RipeTV forumula for success? RipeTV is ready and willing to serve horny young adolescents minds while feeding marketers numerous ways to advertise with the RipeTV shows. RipeTV has been around for about a year but has only recently emerged as a juggernaut. The programs tend to focus on action spots, music, comedy, and other male dominate viewing windows. The company hopes to grab the ‘untapped’ market of frisky young men. The move with Time Warner jumped the viewing audience another 20 million households. (continued below)

The biggest problem with RipeTV? They run commercials like traditional programs. They also sell annoying logos that pop onto the screen during viewing and commercials that take up the bottom or top third of the screen. RipeTV told the WSJ that focus groups did not find the ads intrusive and 98% of viewers remembered who sponsored the program. I must fall into the category of people who are just fed up with programs that run ads during the show.
