Is your web site a reflection of your company?
Is it everything you want it to be and possibly more? It should be.テつ
The feeling I get when I look at some web designers’ web sites and portfolios, is that web sites are “disposable”.テつ
If you get your site designed right the first time, this is something that won’t happen to you.テつ
Your web site. Take a look at it. Is it just a pretty, electronic business card? Is that all you see? I have said this before, that a web site should make you more money. But how? It shouldn’t just lie there and look nice, it needs to be capable of more. It should act as a virtual office to all who see it. It should do anything one of your staff can.テつ
A good example of having your site “go to work for you” is at my web site, www.bwoodsdesign.com. It is set up to instantly handle and process customer questions, provides instant info, and sends messages to me from visitors by way of online forms they fill out. Just as a consumer walks into a brick-and-mortar business, they are usually waited on by a real person. Naturally I don’t answer knocks on my web site but it does the next closest thing! It’s capable of more than just sitting there being an electronic business card. It can take down a customer’s order. It also tells the visitor practically everything they want to know about my services and my background. My site gives live, working samples of my work, answers to common questions they might have about hiring a web designer or starting a web site, and of course they can contact me, too.テつ
