Client Overview

MHR Austin Sonics, part of MHR operating over 300 SONIC stores nationwide, manages 60 SONIC Drive-In restaurants across Central Texas. Since opening their first location in 1973, they've built a 50-year legacy of Texas hospitality while serving loyal customers from Llano to Rockdale and Lampasas to Cibolo.

Problem

MHR Austin Sonics needed a website effectively showcasing their deep community roots while serving multiple distinct audiences: customers, potential employees, and community partners. Their existing digital presence failed to communicate their extensive community involvement, career pathways, and franchise legacy. They needed a platform highlighting core values while providing practical functionality for diverse user needs.

Solution

We created a modern, intuitive Squarespace website balancing brand storytelling with practical user pathways. We developed multi-audience design clearly segmenting content for customers, job seekers, and community partners, mobile-optimized interface ensuring seamless experiences, and integrated functionality for order-ahead services and career applications.

Plan

We developed a comprehensive redesign strategy focused on three areas: balancing heritage with modern functionality by honoring 50-year history while delivering e-commerce and recruitment features; highlighting community impact by transforming involvement into cornerstone of digital identity; and creating clear career pathways through engaging recruitment section with advancement opportunities.

Execution

Heritage Integration: Developed content strategy weaving community legacy throughout site, ensured easy access to practical features like online ordering and job applications, and balanced historical storytelling with modern functionality.

Community Showcase: Transformed community involvement into central digital element, showcased fundraising achievements including $241,912 raised, and created clear pathways for schools and organizations to partner.

Career Development: Designed engaging careers section illustrating advancement from Carhop to Director, included personality-driven role descriptions with transparent salary information, and positioned MHR as employer of choice in competitive hiring market.

Quantitative Metrics

Enhanced community engagement with streamlined partner program access increasing partnership inquiries. Improved recruitment pipeline through engaging, transparent career pathways attracting quality applicants. Optimized user journeys serving multiple audiences without confusion or friction.

Qualitative Benefits

Reinforced position as integral part of Central Texas communities through authentic value communication.
